Christina's health transformation

In Health transformation, posted Jun 23, 2020

I was always thin when I was young but when I turned 14 years old I started to gain weight from my hips, every year it got a bit worse. I was still slim but had extra fat on my hips, I had what we call 'saddle bags', I had some more fat on my tummy and I had a lot of water retention on my legs and around my ankles. I was unhappy with how I looked but I accepted it. I had A LOT of cellulite on my hips and buttocks, and when I started to go out with my friends at the age of 18 I started to wear tight dresses but I always worn a spandex underneath to look slimmer. It was very uncomfortable and I didn't like I had to wear this underneath my clothes to feel and look good in some particular clothes. I started to get more conscious but I was too lazy to start to train and I loved my every day biscuits with tea, store bought pizza, white bread, pasta, muffins, pastry and dairy.

I once started to eat more animal protein and reduced my carbs, but it was too difficult and I always gave up.

Then one day I went with my mum to the gym. I did not train I just watched her do her session with her dear personal trainer Inkka. I got really motivated looking at the different machines and the different exercises that she told her to do and I wished I had some gym clothes to join her in the session. In fact I joined the week after and from that moment on I trained together with my mum with the same personal trainer. Inkka started to guide me slowly what I should eat and what I should avoid and I started to see some difference in my body. I started to feel better and look better and I lost fat from my hips and bum, however my diet still wasn't the best.

One day, during our session Inkka was explaining to us what she was learning from a book called " The China Study " and the information really surprised me, shocked me and interested me at the same time. The information was all new to me. Every session I had I started to learn more and more and I gradually avoided animal protein. The last thing to avoid was dairy. It was too difficult for me but I felt better and was losing more fat. I was so glad and proud of myself that I totally changed my lifestyle and I wanted more improvement. I sort of got addicted to my new hobby of training and eating a vegetarian diet.

On another session of ours, Inkka told us about a documentary called Earthlings.

I watched it and the next day I switched to a completely vegan lifestyle.

I felt amazing!

My skin started to glow.

My cellulite decreased.

I lost a big amount of body fat.

My water retention disappeared.

Blood tests were all fine.

I stopped training with Inkka because she moved to other country.

After two years of eating a complete plant based lifestyle I started to notice that Im losing too much weight and suddenly lost a good amount of muscle. I passed through a time that I started to give up and switched to a vegetarian diet.

After 6 months I decided to start reading "How not to die" and followed the daily dozen plan of Dr. Michael Gregor. I realised that during the last 4 months I was not eating enough so I started to follow a plant based diet again and from that moment on, I never looked back.

I started to gain healthy weight.

Increased muscle with the best food and training.

I am so happy I did not give up.
