YouTube video - Salty dough Christmas ornaments

In year 2016 I decided to make my own Christmas decoration for my Christmas tree. It was a lot of fun and it was easier than I thought so originally.

They are very original for me because I wrote on them a positive words and I feel proud of myself how they came out.

What you need:

For the dough:

• 1 cup white flour

• 1/2 cup salt

• 1/3 cup of water

Another items:

• baking tray

• parchment paper

• rolling pin

• any cake cutters, cake stamps

• string

• acrylic paint

• brushes

• or anything else what you want to decorate your ornaments with

How to make it:

1. Put all dough ingredients into the mixing bowl and mix it well.

2. Transfer your dough on a surface. With your hand knead the dough, adding more flour or water if needed.

3. Roll out the dough to a thickness of around 0.5cm and cut off your favourite christmas ornaments and don’t forget to make a whole in them for your string.

4. Heat up your oven.

5. Place parchment paper on your tray and put your Christmas ornaments on it.

6. Bake at 130 degrees Celsius till your ornaments are completely hard, check it regularly. (mine took around 1 hour or so)

7. Take them out of the oven and let them cool.

8. Paint them with any preferred colours and I also did write a positive words on them to make them more original. But you can do anything you like.

Looking forward to reusing them in coming years.

Update:

I used them every year since making them in 2016 and I am going to use them this year 2019.
