My journey to Zero Waste lifestyle

My eyes opened in one of the many beaches in Thailand. I had seen there dirt / rubbish / plastic on the beaches, dirty browny water ( I actually used an underwater camera to see around under the water. And on my video was just cloudy browny water. I even couldn’t see myself in the video considering how close my camera was to my body) and this scenario opened my eyes.

WHAT ARE WE DOING TO OUR BEAUTIFUL PLANET & OCEANS?

Back in Bangkok, I suddenly had seen a plastic bags completely everywhere. The amount of plastic bags (from tiny little ones to a big size one) is unbelievable.

And this made me think.

WHAT CAN I DO TO CHANGE IT? HOW CAN I MAKE  A DIFFERENCE?

I STARTED FROM MYSELF.

These pictures are from Thailand beaches what I have taken

MY JOURNEY STARTED

USING MY OWN SHOPPING BAGS

USING MY OWN PRODUCE BAGS

I sewed my produce bags from an old fabric and old curtains which my grandma gave them to me. I use them wherever I go shopping for my produce – either farmers market or supermarket.

USING MY OWN WATER BOTTLE & STRAW

I carry my water bottle and glass straw with me. I say “NO” to plastic straw.

AVOIDING SINGLE USE CUPS

by sitting down in the coffee shop instead of take aways. I don’t drink coffee so I usually go for sparkling water which is served in a glass bottle or I would have hot chocolate with soy milk.

BUYING PRODUCTS IN THE GLASS JARS

as much as possible such as mustard, soy sauce, tomato pure etc.

REUSING THESE JARS TO STORE MY FOOD & FOR SHOPPING in BULK SHOP.

MAKING MY OWN LAUNDRY DETERGENT & SOFTENER

SHOPPING IN BULK SHOPS (if not available),  I GO FOR THE BIGGEST PACKAGING AVAILABLE.
